Remove Remote Start/Security?

I had purchased my current care from my mom, and she had some type of remote start system installed into the car. The remote is a Python remote (RPN:488V/P/X) and I believe when it was installed it was wired wrong. The car was not used for about a month and the battery was pretty much new at that point, and now it was dead, I disconnected the battery to test it and see what was going on, and after I had tried to start it and the remote start system kept trying to start the car, even though it was pretty much dead, over and over and over. At one point it started to make a grinding noise (the one as if you tried to start the car while it was already running). Shortly after I disconnected the battery because we all know thats not good. I let it sit for a while, and i reconnected the battery, and I was able to jump start the car without any issues. I put more water in the cells and it was fine. That was about a year ago, and now I had to replace the battery again because something is draining it pretty badly. Right now it was at the point where it would barely start and it was losing the capability to hold a charge. I want to disable or uninstall the remote starter/security system but I dont have any documentation of what system is installed or how it was installed. A friend of mine said that nothing was labeled, and the company that installed it is out of business. Can someone direct me in the right area?

Not sure about the remote start side but the security system you should find a box mounted usually somewhere underneath the steering wheel / under dash. Will have make on it and you should be able to get a model number. I would then take that info and download the pdf schematic and disconnect accordingly. Do not have expierience with remote start but would assume it ties to the brain of the python alarm system if its not all 1 brain. GL

A bad alternater will kill a battery. Have you had the alt output checked? I did install a remote start on my car but I would think removal would be a bear.

Would I have to take the dash apart then?

And when I was refilling the AC fluid stuff, I burnt my arm pretty bad on the alternator... It is loud also, sounds like the bearings might be going bad in it. Any idea how much a new one would cost?
