Oh, btw, sticker was $33,450. I get supplier pricing because of who I work for, so the dealer has to show me their invoice paperwork and i get the car for $400 below dealer invoice. What sucks is that the equinox has such little markup, i got the car for $30,040. Other vehicles have a much higher discount, but this is what we wanted.

Apparently people are paying over sticker on these because demand is higher than production still.

Nice. I like the two tone interior. That thing gets pretty good mileage for a small SUV too huh?

Thanks guys. Yes I agree that its nice, much nicer than the Traverse. People were telling me that I could get a similarly optioned traverse for what I paid, but we dont need 3 rows of seats and its not as nice IMO.

I had just about lost faith in GM until I noticed this car. this might be a sign of good things to come.

I compared it to all of its competitors and this (also terrain and SRX) were the only vehicles in this class where I can sit in the drivers seat comfortably and fit an adult in the back seat behind me. BTW im 6'4" 230 lbs.

Thats kinda funny, I was pushing for the Terrain because of my same feeling, the cheap Equinox looks like crap. when I saw the LTZ (highest line) it looked like a different vehicle to me as well.

In all honesty this is my wifes car. I will be driving it when were together but its replacing her Mini. If i had a say i would have gotten the 3.0 v6.

Oh and BTW, little known fact, only the LTZ comes with projectors. The rest of the models have different headlights. makes a huge difference in front end appearance.

Yeah I think those things have a very nice, contemporary look to them that I know will age well. That combined with hwy mileage that most small/midsize cars have a hard time hitting and gm has a winner on their hands. I really like the silver ones or the two tone white and off white...considering they start in the low 20's, they look more expensive then they are which should be the goal for any automaker imo.

Just to report back, i got 30.5 mpg over the weekend without really putting effort in. I was cruising at 70 mph to and from my in-laws house.

2003sct i kinda disagree. I think that the base model looks cheap. if the LTZ didnt look so much nicer than the base model then we would have gotten the Terrain.

oh, and I installed HIDs, 4300k. They were crap and the ballast went out in 30 mins. I replaced it and it went out again a day later. It was also a problem because the DRLs use the low beams, but instead of running a third wire, it pulses the signal. thats fine for halogens, not for HIDs. I had to turn the headlights on during the day. Someone sells a capacitor to use in line, but i decided to go back to stock. it wasnt meant to be.

heres pics from the one day I had them on and they worked:

GM generally does not use the highest quality projectors, and considering those ones were made for halogen, that is a pretty nice cutoff.

well i made sure to get HID bulbs where they matched the length to the factory bulb (not sure how to describe it), but the light is the same distance from the base as the factory light. This ensures that the projector works the way it was supposed to from the factory.

Yup sold it.

Thanks for the props on the new ride.

I am burying this deep in the thread because I dont want to make a huge announcement, but we got the new ride because theres gonna be a new little Car Audio Dave running around. my wife is prego, and her Mini Cooper was just too small for a kids seat.

I didn't know GM could make something that nice. Congrats on the little one.

I wouldn't say GM can compete again. They're getting back there though.

Thanks.

They might not be competing on all fronts, but in this category they have the best MPG, best interior (space/layout) and competitive price. I will say that the traverse is butt ugly and isnt there yet, and of course the Impala is garbage. larger SUVs arent there either, but they are getting there.
