I would say the best place would be to replace the red/blue'a with white/ yellow's. I think that would be the best place.
You could always try some fiberglassing work on the "gills" and make your own housing to put some LEDs in and figure out something for a cover so it isn't just a couple led strips slapped on there. |

There is some dupe with a truck that put the GTS blackout covers on his parking lights, then stuck the yellow led strip under that, no idea why, aside of ignorance, but in your case, that would be the only thing that would like right, each side would still flash, and it would be in the area other traffic would be looking for a turn signal in.
I think you might consider form over function on this one dude, I know that's a kind of cheap place and way to do it, but if it works... |

Get some projector style switchbacks. That's what I did in my headlights since I painted my reflector when I did my retros.

IIRC he tried the projector turn signal bulbs and was not satisfied with them.
There is really no good solution with those headlights. Since it's black it doesn't reflect hardly at all and that makes it hard to see. I still vote on some custom fiberglass work and putting them down low on the bumper in the "gills" |

You had the idea of amber strip lights that would be hidden except when the blinker was on, I think that would work very well if you could pull that off, it would still be in the headlight/turn signal area and if it was on the inner < like one pic showed it would work, just have bright enough led's to be seen in daylight.

Understandable, so leaving the head lights alone your only good option is mirror, as was mentioned, though how much work that would be is definitely unknown. Or in the bumper cover itself maybe slightly below the head light, also might be a lot of work.
I do have to say though those lights turned out great I am very impressed with your work. I am not liking the way my projectors look these days, even though the CCFL has lasted and still is bright even in daytime.

Wow those little ones are useless
. Not necessarily your fault since they painted the reflectors black for some reason. I think silvergun has those also. Our first "encounter" I saw his turn signals behind me which looked like little round circles. This makes me more want to get LED turns. Output is pretty good with stock reflectors. Gotta link to those 3157 switchbacks you have in the stock black headlights? I was going to end up getting these: http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...led-tower/633/

Quick question running back through the thread. You bought another set and it came painted black with amber corner lens. Did you tint that or what? Cause in the finished pictures it didn't seem like it had the amber corner lens at all

the first set was chrome with clear corners, the second set was black with amber corners. in these headlights the corner reflector is screwed onto the middle shroud spot so i took the tinted clear corners and screwed them to the black shroud. then sold the messed up bodycolor ones with amber corners

Never seen anything like those switch back LED's before. What's the purpose of them and how do they operate?
And how is the quality of the LED lights from that website? I've just got a pair of sylvania silver stars in my front turn signals, and standard clear and amber bulbs for the turn signals and back up lights in my LED tails. I've debated going to LED's for them, but I've had bad luck with low quality bulbs burning out. The tail light bulbs aren't the same as the stock ones either. For some reason the company that made them used the round metal base bulbs (I forget the number) instead of the stock wedge style. I've got some 5 smt amber LED 194 bulbs in the little reflector between the turn signal and projector in my head lights, and half the led's on them are burned out now. I've also been looking for some red 194's I could use in my gauges that will fit and are brighter than the standard glass bulbs because the gauges are kind of dim. I tried 3 different brands off ebay and one didn't fit in the gauge, one was dimmer than my old bulbs, and the third one had a cluster of like 6 little led's on them so they fit and were a little brighter, but after a couple months half of them started flickering and going out. I took them out and half the led's were dead. ![]()
