Rims

Hey fellas i have a question, can you fit 20 inch rims on a 04 grand am gt 4 door, and still be able to lower it? or is it better to go with 19 inch if your gonna lower it. im looking into getting 20's but imo they look too big unless u lower the car a lil cause it does increase the ride height.. Can any one give me a lil feed back? Thanks fellas!!

No, 20's are too big for this car, lowered or not. Stay away from them.

18"s.

Now, getting a nice offset and width really makes or breaks a set of wheels.

I have 20's on my alero lowered with eibach's... it can be done, but you need max 7.5" wide with max 225/35/20 rubber... harsh ride quality and they still rub a bit, but it can be done...

See i think that looks good! i think for the moment i am goin to go with 19's, some research i did of 04 grand am pictures with 19's didnt seem to make the ride height noticable, so when i get the cash after i purchase my rims i should be able to lower it and not have an issue. my bud had 18's on his monte carlo and to me they just seemed not to flow with his car very well. thats just imo. but im sure 18's with it lowered to the max would look good, but i still wanna be able to go through car wash's and oil change places... i think 19's with a lower kit would still be able to do those things... or am i wrong?

I'd stick with a 18" wheel tops bud.

Just because something "can" be done doesn't mean it "should" be done. Anything bigger than 19" wheels can cause a multitude of problems for your car, and careful attention must be paid to offset, width, and tire size when going with a larger wheel.
