Wiring question

Maybe a stupid question but need to ask as this has been bugging me for sometime...

I noticed that when they wired my stereo they connected / wired my front speakers using the factory wiring. The crossover for my mids and tweet are in the trunk and they connected them to factory wiring? The amp is in the trunk

I was thinking of re-wiring them using new wires?

factory wires are somewhere near 22 gauge. you can go up to 16 gauge.

are you amplifying the speakers? what speakers are they? sometimes its worth it and sometimes not. its costly to have a shop rewire, but if you do it yourself then I would say its worth it.

not really. there is some added resistance to the distance but I dont think it will make a big difference.
