New LED fog lights

well my stock fogs are starting to show there age by cracking and hazing. so I set on a search to find some LED fogs that would work and fill the 4in opening we have in the bumper. Originally I was gunna get some projector fogs, but then I'd need to get HID to match the HID in the headlights. so to save some time I just got LED which gives the same look and hopefully will perform better than the crappy stock fogs.
anyways heres what I got.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140643906389...84.m1497.l2649

(Two) 18W 1500 lum High Power LED Work Lights Lamps with 6 CREE LED

just got my LED lights to be used as fogs, now to try an find a way to mount em either to stock mounts, or make some kinda new mounting bracket.
they are a tad bigger than the stock fogs, but that should be ok as it'll fill the hole better.

Well spent a little time and got them mounted to the stock brackets. tomorrow I'll try and mount them on the car

this is how I modded the bracket to accept the new LED light, Cut a square hole at the top then drilled a hole on either side to slide/secure the mount of light. then drilled a hole near the arch to put a bolt, spring, and wing nut to act as stock adjuster

I took the brackets that came with the lights and bent them at a 90* angle to mount the bottom mount that also came with the lights to the back to use for my spring adjuster

then comparing a newly mounted LED with stock fog

well got the new lights mounted and of course they sat too high so had to drill new holes in the plastic bracket to drop them down just a tad, and low and behold they fill in the stock fog opening just perfectly.

the red indicates the new hole locations, yes the one I had to slot. but because of the washer on the bolt it still made contact, and all is tight

driver side is newly mounted LED, pass side is stock fog

then tested them out driver side being the LED which is 6 CREE LED, while pass side is a silverstar ultra

then both LED mounted and on

well took some night shots, they kinda bright from head on, but they do light up quite a bit better than stock

stock fogs with Silverstar Ultras

New 6CREE LED fogs

Only the fogs on, taken from driver seat

Both fogs an headlights (Silverstar Ultras) on, taken from driver seat

Only the headlights on

Both fogs and headlights on

No lights from the car on, shop is about 60ft in front of car

Only the fogs on, really light up the shop wall

Only the headlights on

Both fogs an headlights on

What the hell is up with that tree? It looks like its growing at a 45 angle...or do you live on the side of a very steep hill?

nope the ground is flat, there is a lot of bigger trees to the left of it so maybe its growing for light. i do like how you commment on the dam tree growing at an angle rather than if you like the lights......
