Newbie Malibu (N-body) looking for MP62 support

So I thought I'd introduce myself here. I have a 3400 engine being rebuilt still... It is getting everything pretty much done to it. It's stroked, bored, ported, milled, got 60lb injectors, and a custom UIM.

I recently got the MP62 blower and a 4T45E tranny (overhauled). This has been one hell of a project and very time consuming (w/ working and school fulltime). But I'm glad schools out for the summer and I can focus on this.

I've come here to hopefully get some answers to some questions that I may have on the engine, tranny, intercooler, meth/water kit, and blower installs. I will also help out where I can and return the favor.

Thanx in advance everyone and I'm glad to be here. Plus here's the ride...

Me hopefully winning it big

Welcome, noob. I don't care much for audio/flashy sh!t, but performance is always a good path to go with these engines. Wait for AaronGTR to chime in, he's extremely knowledgable with the LA1/M62 blower combo, he laid down 320WHP, just to give you an idea on what a potentially good build will net you.

Wait, is that an interfooler? Dude...no, just no...

all questions about the car should be answered in my cardomain page: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/393357...alibu-sedan-4d

Also, the intercooler was given to me by a coworker and is a sketch, but I would like to use it. So, judging from your response [ChasweaveR], why shouldn't I use the intercooler?

If it's a legit intercooler, by all means, do include it with your M62 build. From how it looked, you had an N/A setup with an "interfooler", basically a fake intercooler that's really just apart of the intake tubes.

Yah I agree with you chaos. I'm not a faker, it was just a sketch and measure. Plus it looks tight.

So, my situation is, I had blown the head gasket in October due to a faulty engine coolant sensor. My 3100 motor hasn't turned over since December. This spurred me to get the 3400 motor, then I saw the blower for sale at the right time and got it. Then got the tranny to match the motor. I did research and got the snow meth injector and an intercooler (air-air). And this is where I leave off and am trying to learn more about the motor, tranny, blower, installs, and trial/ errors about all of the above. As much help and tips/ advice is appreciated.

Like I said, AaronGTR will be your best friend for this setup. Shoot him a PM, or he'll eventually find your thread.

Search his threads and M62 build threads in general, you'll learn a lot.

You plan on keeping the LA1 mostly as is? Or doing an LX9 top swap?

Whats up. Very clean looking car you have there. I especially like the upholstery job on the seats, that looks sweet!

Just to give you a good start on the build... you won't be able to use that intercooler with the M62 blower. You don't typically use an air/air intercooler with roots blowers because of how they work. The piping and core of that type intercooler take up too much volume and lowers your boost. You would have to do an air/water intercooler, or get a water/meth injection system (that's the route I'm going).
