Decided to straight pipe it. cut the o2 sensor port off the clogged cat and welded it on the resonator and welded it back... just have a noisy pebble in the muffler. i do have a question though. With no catalytic converter onit or pipe the car did fantastic and went well over 110 and i had to slow. now that the straight pipe on with almost no pressure the car WILL NOT go past 90. The tach. will just bounce from 5 to 3. Like its governed. what could it be?

you ran just downpipe? thats good for your valves....

aside from that.. you need to tune out the cat o2 sensor. and get a real cat delete pipe. aside from bogging at 90 idk.

Your car must hate you...

I let Aaron fill in the details (if he wishes).

But it is not the no pressure that is getting you.
As back pressure is never good.
You IMO have no exhaust gas velocity; & no scavenging effect.

Save you money, & stop mod'ing you car's motor.
Don't get headers unless you are going to do it right !
Headers with a proper tune & catback exhaust.

When done properly, always get better gas mileage.

If you don't do it properly, like not tuning...the motor will run LEAN!

I don't have headers. I'm just wondering why it ran better with nothing on it and now that there's a new pipe it runs worse. I'm not modding it. decided I'm just going to treat it nice and save up for a better car. the cat was clogged. took it off and just welded up a pipe in its place

It runs worse because there's no cat.

It ran fine without one before i put up the pipe. i don't see why it would be a problem now

That's because you don't understand anything about how engine's or the cars computer works.

Do yourself a favor... put a new cat back on the car, put the O2 sensors back in, stop modifying it and just drive it. It should drive better after that.
