ugh i keep telling myself i dont have time to polish these for this season but i keep catching a reflection in the corner of my eye of the tiny bit i started to polish and cant help but think how good they will look so.... 220, 320, then 400 and im here so far

sandblasted vs 400 grit, still lots more to go but should look good i hope!

think its going to be flat black or the gunmetal for the rest of the rim

haha ya in person they look like a rough primer or something

well finally got upto 2000 grit wet so i layed down some gloss black, gonna let it cure then go back over a couple spots with 2000 to clean the lines up then actually get out my buffing stuff and make these things shine!!

Be proud, you made me interested in a set of Eagle 077s.

I'd do the spokes either graphite or copper/bronze.

well good and bad news.... start with the good i guess
"new" deck

and got some tires for my 077s! 245/40/18

now the bad part about the rims.... been working on the other 3 and these rims have SO many little pits and black "staining" in the aluminum, not sure if some of it is caused by what the previous owner used to blast them or something but ive stepped down to 40 grit in sanding and these blemishes just dont wanna go away
kinda hard to tell in the picture but in person they are EVERYWHERE!!

even the one i "finished" needs to get redone as i never got those blemishes out completely and it shows obviously

sooo might be painting them a solid color....

Yeah, it's hard to get imperfections out of cast aluminum, and usually going to a very coarse grit sand paper is a bad idea. It leaves such deep scratches in the surface that they are hard to get smooth again.

i wasnt worried about getting the scratches out i have pretty much every grit from 40-2000 in my garage so it really wasnt that bad to get out, i only did it to one rim to see if i could get the blemishes away but it just wasnt working out and i bought enough black paint to do all 4 rims so figured i might aswell use it, painted the one that i polished and got the other 3 pretty much ready for paint.

didnt really wanna go black on black completely but it will do for now..... might go with a crazy color in the future or just a simple bronze over top of the black hoping to make it a bit darker then normal

as for the swap im still missing a few pieces like flywheel/pressure plate bolts, 65mm LX5 TB/adapter and 28# injectors but a few of those items should be here soon, i wanna try and get it in before it gets parked for winter but see what happens as everything got pushed back cause i couldnt find a solid shell for awhile
