Donkey Punch Turbo Question

so for those who don't know there was a company called donkey punch a few years back that sold full turbo kits for our cars. I was just wondering if anyone still on here had a DP turbo and if so how its help up. just curious, not looking to buy one or anything but saw G.I's turbo build and it reminded me of DP.

iirc, zuki had a donkey punch. i know i've heard that brand name on here before. i think it was zuki because i associated the donkey named turbo with the jackass's car.

yeah, that guy was on here a while ago. He was a real douche bag. Didn't really know anything about tuning these cars. Him and I "had it out" a few times.

After he couldn't make things work right and not many people bought his kit, I think he sold his car and moved on. Had a 3400 powered monte carlo iirc.

interesting. when you can he couldn't make things work right is that because he sucked at tuning? I guess what i'm asking is would it run right with someone who knew how to tune?

I wouldn't have anything to do with his built kit. The tune is everything for these but you also need to make sure your work is solid and not using cheap parts. Mine took me almost a year and a half to do but I used to notch everything. These things done right with the right time run awesome. I have had no issues with mine except I need to turn up the torque limiter. My car catches people by surprise because it's very unexpected to have a boosted GA that runs like it does. Build it yourself or buy a lot from Milzy. The money spent is worth it regardless of the vehicle. I love having a boosted GA no matter what people say.

It's been a long time, but yes I believe he couldn't tune the pcm properly. There may have been some other issues with the kit design. I don't remember.

Isn't there a different centrifugal kit out there? I can't recall the name of it though.

there are a lot of companies that make centrifugal supercharger kits, but none of them make one for the Grand Am.

I had a dream of mounting a D-1 down where the AC compressor used to seit with a FMIC and an equinox intake. That was going to be a tight squeeze...
